Vic/Chris: I hear what you two are saying. I kinda get remarks like these alot so I'm sure there's truth in it. But with this project i've tried to focus more on the composition and less on the production and I thought that worked out okayishly. I'm currently thinking of going with these tracks (in random order):
Petrichor
Voor J.S.
I specifically Reminded You
Another Lonely Autumn
Nihil sine origine nisi deus solus
Thanks for the education
When the train comes in
Of these tracks IMHO only the last one really depends on effects, and of the first five the only effects used are reverb, plus a bit of delay on the vocals of 'Nihil Sine', for the rest no effects used at all. Maybe I still overdid it but I have to admit I already had to restrain myself a lot. But I'll think some more about it, thanks for bringing it up. :D
Margaret: Oops! Totally forgot to mention that one, no idea how it escaped my mind. I added it to the original post, thanks for the catch. :D

I'd definitely vote for a mix of both piano and guitar pieces in the project.
Don
I haven't had a chance to go through all of them yet (I've heard most of them already though).
Is our last collab going to be a bonus track on the CD?
I just gave an honest listen to the all of it ( with a good bottle of Syrah) I will write a review tomorrow. I really liked it for the most part :D I have been up most of the night catching up on education requirements for work( and the last 2 days also  )--ken
BTW I took about 3 pages of notes
Cool Ken, looking forward to hearing it. :D Go get some well-deserved sleep. ;)
Nice work Arjen, I will just ad my 2 cents in for what it worth.
Petrichor: Nice beginning piece, sets a nice mood.
Mag ik Even: Good contrast to the first piece, I like the spoken word.I personally would use less bass drum and add a bass line , but that's just me.
Voor J.S.: Sweet! Again nice contrast.
I Specifically Reminded you: I like it but I think this would work better as an opening to another song ( think of Chicago and the intro to “Does any body know what time it is†I do like it though, it has some nice themes to it.
Eenden Bestaan blues: Nice approach to the blues, the only thing I would do different is adding more volume to the stomp track..Stomp that foot harder LOL.
Another Lonely Autumn: Another nice piano piece,
Nihil Sine Origine Nisideus Solus: Great Mix, nice strings also. I love the strings from 1:50-2:24. This is a keeper.
Thanks For the Education: Nice Gene Kruppa beat. The guitar is very cool, reminiscent of surf music(Dick Dale was influenced by Mid east music, Miser Lou comes to mind.
When the Train Comes in: Good beat and some good ideas. Loses my interest at about 2:00 then it starts to get interesting again at 4:00 . Could use some guitar maybe? Maybe just shorten it some? Just MHO
Wat Loop Je Now Te Ekelen :This one grew on me.. I like the vocals. Kind of a jazz feel.
Little wing Space Attack: Cool but to heavy on the percussion effects, I just found it a bit distracting . I think you have all the key ingredients , maybe a remix?
Song About Love or Lack Thereof: perfect ending, Kind of melancholy.
Over all its very good 8) 8) 8) --ken
