I think my throat's improving a bit so I'll give a week or two and see how it is.
In the meantime I'm recording a few guitar tracks so I can concentrate on singing when it comes to that point rather than flicking between tabs and lyrics every few minutes!
A couple of things I want to clarify though; I've heard that it's bad to sing along to anyone else's singing and this can cause problems and that it's also not very good to sing quietly to yourself. Any truth to those?
I don't see why you shouldn't sing along with a recording--the problem here was our ability to hear your voice against the other singer.
I also don't see why singing softly to oneself would be damaging--either in terms of vocal health or in terms of vocal quality. I try to sing softly to myself--it's hard!
I might be way off here. I, too, heard the vocal over Plant's, so I'm not sure. What I think I heard was similar in style and in substance somewhat to Elliott Smith. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH8-lQ9CeyI
