Hi guys
It struck me that there's an opportunity here to post songs that don't really fit on the ESD.
What do you all think - post here or post on the ESD?
i was thinking of Dylan stuff in Open D (capoed at 2 to make open E)
Let me know - maybe i'll bash something up as an beginners intro to open tunings.
Matt
Post 'em on the ESD Matt....but don't forget to post the link here!!!!
Wasn't "Shelter From The Storm" one of your posts on ESD? That was pretty easy....make a good intro to open tunings....

I'm just wondering, what's the ESD?
"A cheerful heart is good medicine."

And "Stuck in the middle with you" by Stealer's Wheel was one of mine...that was in open D....and it's not too difficult...

I was just plunking around in Open E one evening and came up with a cool riff. After I got it going, I realized it was Nazareth's "Hair of the Dog."
"A cheerful heart is good medicine."
Manny Charlton played a lot of slide guitar with Nazareth...."Miss Misery" from the same album (and if memory serves correctly, the b-side of the "My White Bicycle" single) sounds good in open G....they had quite a few hits in the UK, most of them featured a slide solo....

Maybe you should put a note in the title "Open G", "Dropped D" (oops, clumsy :D )
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

open E. David Lindley's Mercury Blues works very well.
