Don't you take my baby away,
Please don't take my baby away,
Cause if you take my baby away
I'll hunt you down 'til my dyin' day.
Went down to the corner
With my heart on my sleeve
Looking for my sweet baby
So that she wouldn't leave
Found that man who would take her
On a train out west
I taught him a lesson
He'll never forget.
Don't take my baby away.
Don't take my baby away.
If you take my baby away
I'll hunt you down 'til my dyin' day.

Hi Mike
This is a good blues song and has all the elements of this week's assignment - well done. It's got quite a sinister 'done me wrong' kind of attitude as well - typical of the blues.
One thing I would point out is the mix of tenses in the verse detracts from the song. I'd make the whole thing in the present tense sort of
Going down to the corner
have my heart on my sleeve
Looking for my sweet baby
Going to beg her not to leave
I'll find the man who's taking her
On a train out west
I'll teach him a lesson
He'll never forget.
Otherwise good stuff
Bob
