Hey James
I'm sorry, i had to say I laughed when it started but it actually got better as it went on... :D
I know exactly how long it takes to mix and overdub tracks and NOT in a proper studio so you've done a great job if it's your first time...
You sounded really uneasy to start with but built up confidence after the first couple of verses. I think it sounded too out of sync to actually sound - well - deliberate. I'd tidy up the sync, and bring in the overdubs earlier, maybe after the second verse - they really add depth to the song. Start off with a bit more confidence with the singing.
Hey, I think we all have subliminal influences when we write songs so that isn't a problem unless you rip it off - even Coldplay have been accused of that!
Okay okay - you got rid of the intro, but got your revenge on the outro...
Rock on!

I'm nowhere near Chicago. I've got six string, 8 fingers, two thumbs, it's dark 'cos I'm wearing sunglasses - Hit it!
Dylan,
Thanks for your feedback... I did go back and try to clean it up a bit...drum machines/sequences and me don't get along so well :? The music always sounded so stiff whenever I tried to do a song with one so I stopped using them many years ago and prefer to play with live drummers...since that won't happen anytime soon, I thought I would give it another shot...
anyway in all it is still a rough mix....just cleaned up a bit....
Thanks again. :D
James
