Y9W34 Fifteen (Lyrics only to the song "Yellow" by Coldplay)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQxLTCQop2I
Walk past the cars
Walk when the cars roam streets
Cause traffic lights don't speak
When you are just fifteen
I strayed outside
I prayed on lonely streets
Cause no one wants to speak
When you are just fifteen
By now you understand
There's nothing as close as friends
When you are just fifteen
Your eyes
That's right your eyes and tears
Burn hot you're not unusual
How's one so young can feel so old
So young can feel so old
I smiled enough
I learned enough in streets
To not think much or speak
When I was just fifteen
I lost a friend
I lost a friend to streets
There's nothing close as friends
When you are just fifteen
Your eyes
That's right your eyes and tears
Burn hot you're not unusual
Can I forgive the pain and find rest
Forgive the pain and find rest
Unseen walk when cars roam the streets
walk when cars roam the streets
walk when cars roam
walk when cars roam the streets
walk when cars roam the streets
walk when cars roam
walk past the cars
walk when they roam the streets
and any strangers you meet
Hi James,
Plenty of interesting phrases and images, as usual from you. I don't know Coldplay, or that song, so I'll have to work through your link and see how it goes. Just not tonight....yawn... I"m fading fast...
Cheers,
Chris
just sang your words along with it there James, nice one! pulled me in!
"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side."
Thanks guys for the "reads" and posts.
BTW I went ahead and chose another more recent Coldplay song to add to this week. I am not going rebel if I don't show up/participate next week, but I will be on vacation away from my beloved musical toys :(
James
I didn't get teen angst from this one, I got someone looking back at how much stuff you miss when you are fifteen. I like to write a bit more specifically, but considering you are writing to a coldplay song, I think you hit the vague nail on the head.

Interesting how it comes across.....yest even the original lyrics to "Yellow" are up for debate.......from just a happy feeling to drug experimenting.....
What I had in mind for this was darker than what Peter got from it....but could have lead to angst......and it's quite interesting that it came across that the singer is missing stuff......but in all, the singer was missing having a friend/friendship/love.....so that part rings true
.........I had in mind a teenage runaway turning to prostitution to survive then feeling used up and trying to get away from all the bad.......the cars are the Johns/clients wanting to use her....not caring about her at all really.....
.......and following Coldplay's ambiguous style, the correct answer it probably always D) All of the above.
Thanks again for the listen and post.
James
