Cells on Cells
by Kevin Fredericks
Copyright 2005(steal it and I'll decapitate you with something bigger than a breadbox!)

---------Verse UNO-------------
so you think you'd like the eternal zen
but you've got your money all cashed in
on this piece of flesh in which you grew
that everybody seems to identify with you

--------INTERLUDE-----------
and I know it sounds a little bit strange, so why don't I try to explain it again, and I know it sounds a little insane, so why don't I try to explain it again.

--------VERSE deux----------
your muscles are the strings of a marionette and
your bones are the places in which they rest and they
say the brain tells if you're living or dead, but I
must say the soul lies somewhere other than your head

-----------INTERLUDE-------------(fantastic!)
and I know it sounds a little bit strange, so why don't I try to explain it again, and I know it sounds a little insane, so why don't I try to explain it again.

------chorus----------*fireworks*
but you are, cells on cells, no physical self. cells on cells

=======verse 3=========
you ask the world for another spin,
but the illusion keeps on falling in
so there is a fine solution for the girls and boys if
they start by not treating your head like a toy

---------interludiarando---------------
I know...it sounds a little insane, but it just might come out a little strange, etc.

-----------Verse $------------------
you wake up from the shaking of your body in the night it was the damned old dream of a demon out of sight but you
never stop to wonder so you'll never know if
all he ever wanted was to say hello.

------------chorusissississimo---------------
but you are, cells on cells, no physical self, cells on cells.

I know it has a lot of *but*'s, but it sounds wierd without a grace note before the downbeat on every verse when it's sung.

Hey Snoogans,

I bet this sounds really great when sung... any thoughts on recording?

I had trouble connecting though... um, while I believe that I am not my body, I also believe that my body is a big part of who I am, so at least for this listener, the message didn't hit home. Unless I'm missing something, which I've been known to do.

The concept cells on cells really gets down to the point. I'm glad that people are starting to embrace the sci-tech world we live in as a source of imagery. The muscles and marionettes line was great too.

It was pretty good. But, like Slowplay said I couldn't really connect with it. But, there are several really good lines. Good Job!

well I can understand why you can't connect with it, neither can I, it's an idealistic poem.

SlowPlay-it is recorded, I have a bad mix of it over at garageband

the crazy thing about that mix, is that I spontaneously decided the song would sound better a half step lower after I recorded it, so I just pitch bent the whole thing, to me, that voice soudns like a giant.
