When I put my capo on the first fret, I get a nasty buzzing on my low E string. It doesn't do it on any other frets (up to 5th, that's the highest I've had it). The string doesn't buzz when I finger the first fret, just with the capo. Is this a problem with my capo or my guitar?
Also, when it does this, if I jiggle it around a little bit, eventually I'll get it to a place where it doesn't buzz, but its rarely the same place.

could be that the nut is cut too high, or that the capo needs more tension.
Is the capo the rubber band kind, or a kyser or shubb?
It's not an elastic, but other than that I don't know. I got it almost a year ago, but didn't really use it until the last month or so. It's got a screw to tighten it onto the fretboard, if that helps.

just tighten it down a little more.
Make sure the capo is close to the fret.
