I hate you! ..... Not really, but that puts my LP Studio to shame. I love the natural top with the flame. They are amazimg instruments. I like the aged look of the MOP as well. A fine axe indeed. 8) Mine is black with gold hardware and an ebony board. Mine is a 1992 .. it's getting old.
I disagree. That black one is hot with gold hardware. That was my second choice. They also had the deep red finish and a white with gold hardware but I had the white with the EPI. I wanted something different and the natural beat them all for appearance and playability. IMHO.

It is porn . That is a beautiful guitar and I'm sure it plays as well as it looks (Yeah , I'm a Gibson guy !) . I've had my LP for 26 years and couldn't be happier with it .
If I claim to be a wise man , it surely means that I don't know .
that must have cost alot of money :| ! But Im sure it was worth it enjoy it man!! :D :D

Well, if I can talk dollars, in terms of Gibson it wasn't expensive. In terms of most guitars it is near the mid range.
Here's a link to that guitar on MF.

GC was the same "selling" price but I had a coupon for 15% off the selling price. So basically I spent less than $1500 USD tax included and put it on a 12 month SAC option. I have enough gigs coming up drumming for my band that I should be able to pay it off in about 6 months. Ha, my drumming is supporting my guitar habit. I wish it could be the other way around. I'd have a lot less gear to lug around.
Thanks, Dalron!!!
Too funny, Diceman. hahahaha

Bish, If memory serves me correctly (and as much percocet as I'm on, I could be off) , you once had an EPI LP? Maybe even a Custom? I'd be curious to hear your comparison between that and the new Gibby.

You are correct sir. Matter of fact I just sold the EPI last month. The EPI's are nice guitars and both I had were well made and were not flawed in any way.
What I didn't like about them was the pickups. They were more mid to low end tonal pickups. I like a brighter bitier tone. Gibson pickups are hotter or louder with a wider range of tone variations. Along with that comes the Gibson tuners which I find to be very smooth to use and very accurate turning them small increments. I was never a fan of the "ivory" looking machine knobs but over the last year or so that issue faded for me. What I find I DO like about those ivories is they never show any fingerprints like chrome, nickel and gold do.
The sustain on Gibsons is truly second to none. It out performs my ($1000 more expensive) PRS and way outdoes my Fender Deluxe and IBanez, as well. These guitars really do perform as expected.
Lastly, I don't know if it is just me but different guitars put me into different mind sets when I strap one on. For example, when I put on the strat I want to wail on rhythm and power strumming. When I put on the Ibanez ripping leads surface, even tho I can't play any.
The PRS and Gibson seem to attempt to encompass all aspect of my knowledge of guitar. One minute I can be power chording or bashing out something and fry a little lead along with it and the next, arpeggiate some soft chords. As an aside, I find the same alluring mindsets with my different drumsets, too.

Thanks, Jason. I appreciate you taking a second attempt to check it out. Sadly, the PRS and Strat are now hardcased indefinitely.

Bish, a beautiful guitar. It seems that we have similar tastes when it comes to guitars. I love the blonde.
