Repair bridge

I just got a Jasmine by Takomini and the bridge was broken in half, glued together, and then poorely glued on the guitar. how should i go about removing it so i can put on a new one? i would prefer to avoid damaging the finish of course. essentially.. wahts the best way to remove glue from a guitar?

The unfortunate thing about noobie repairs is often the wrong glues are used. Example: If the repairer used epoxy on the the guitar, it may be unrepairable. But if the repair was done with a moisture or heat sensitive glue (white, yellow, hide glues), then a hot palette knife will generally remove a bridge from a flat top guitar. But you have to be very careful not to dig into the top of the guitar.
