Could somebody please direct me to a site/link where I can find out more about the electronics in an amp?
I have a a peavey 10 watt, and just lately its started making a worrying sort of electronic "click" then "fizz" noise when I turn it off. I dont think its worth taking it to a repairman, (its pretty old), and I cant afford a new amp for at least 5 or 6 months....
Any suggestions/ links?

Sounds like a power supply capacitor maybe leaking voltage. You need the schematics for the amp and check the test points. Being that you haven't said anything of whether its a tube or solidstate amp. This would be a WAG. (Wild a** guess).
