Hey all you tube geeks,

I just inherited a 72 Fender Pro Reverb and it has some issues, plug it in and smoke comes out the back, NOT FROM THE TRANSFORMERS!

I'm getting ready to pull it apart, I have schematics and just enough knowledge to be dangerous, I have all brand new tubes and I think I can bias it myself,(yeah, I know about high voltages and all the precautions, I used to work around stuff WAY Higher).

I'm going to assume that it's going to need some parts, what I need is a good place to get parts like terminal boards, caps etc...

If it works, fine, if it doesn't, thats o.k too. Just some thing to play with,(just like my new guitar computer),(probably cheaper too!)

Thanks!

Ted Weber stocks parts for all kinds of Fender (and Marshall) amps, including transformers, fiber boards for mounting parts, and all the caps / resistors / pots / jacks / etc you'll need. I think they started mostly selling speakers, and branched out with other replacement parts. Now they stock so much you can build a complete amp w/ stuff from Weber. For the most part, the Weber parts are pretty good for the cost, but some people prefer to use name brand pots and jacks (ie Alpha / Switchcraft). TubeDepot also stocks a fair amount of stuff (not just tubes). If you want name brand stuff, this is a pretty good place to get it. They stock JJ, Orange Drop, SoZo, and Sprague caps, and Switchcraft and Cliff jacks, and Alpha pots if that's your thing. Happy tinkering!

Antique Electronics Supply is a pretty good source, too. http://tubesandmore.com/
