Yep, I am with you on the EQ. In fact, this week I ordered another Danelectro Fish & Chips 7 band EQ. I also ordered the Danelectro Tuna Melt Tremelo pedal. I am not big on effects, but I do love Tremelo and the Rotary speaker sound like the bridge on Badge by Cream. The Dano Tremelo got pretty good reviews and the price was unbeatable. I am a big Dano fan, I'm sure you have noticed.

I am going to purchase another pedal board. On my gigging board I will just have my Zoom GFX-1 into an EQ pedal. I am going to put another board together with my individual pedals. I will have the Daddy-O for overdrive, Arion Stereo Chorus, Dano Phase, Dano Tremelo, Dano PB & J Delay (but set for reverb only), and the new Dano EQ.

Yeah, pick up an EQ. They really do allow you to fine tune your tone, well worth the investment.

Oh, haven't read anything about it so maybe I'm blind: how about using pedals with the V-amp, and create a bypass patch on it so you switch between the clean princeton and the modified V-amp, or plugging the V-amp directly in the poweramp and using a 20,- A/B switch to change between clean and lead?

Or are the overdrives in the V-amp even further of from what you seek then the princeton's lead channel?

The V-amp overdrives are similar to what I'm looking for. Sometimes though there is nothing I can do to get rid of the excessive treble, and a slight digital sound.

For distortion, I like the following:
TS-808 for classic rock and roll
Subdecay Stupid Box for more distortion
Subdecay Blackfire for over the top distortion / metal
