You have to be careful what crowd you say that in, Dan!
Yep, It can be a bit dangerous sometimes being a Bears fan in Packer country! Funny though, I didn't hear many comments from the Packer fans this year. Hmm... wonder why... :P
Funny story, my son is a big sports nut, and plays one sport after another. Last summer, he's at his Pop Warner football team's 1st meeting, (new team & new coach), and the coach has all the kids down on 1 knee giving them the "Coach speach", when the coach says: "And I'm a die-hard Bears fan, and I play smash mouth football, just like the Bears! Anyone else here a Bears fan?" No one raises their hand, except for my son! Coach says: "Great, another football fan with taste! You're starting Quarterback!" The funniest thing was that I had a Bears shirt on that day, and before we go to the meeting, my son asked me to please change my shirt, (which I did!), becasue he didn't want his new coach to see that his Dad was a Bears fan & give him the worst position!
So, your 1st experience at GC wasn't a good one. You'd think they would want to start out by impressing their new customers? Oh well, GC's loss, Ward Brodt's gain. Have fun with the micro-cube!

I just flat out do not like guitar center, or at least the one closest to me, they are very dismissive of women as players and having a wife AND daughter this type of attitude doesn't sit well with me.
Over a year ago my wife decided she wanted a new guitar, she had saved a bit over $600 for it so we dropped my daughter off at her aunties and planned on spending a pleasant day guitar shopping.
We went to GC first, my wife shoo'd me off not wanting me to "advise" her on what to try. So, I wandered over across the room to where they had the Fenders and began to mess around. Within 5 minutes I had no less than 3 salespeople come over inquiring as to my needs offering suggestions etc.. All 3 of these kids walked past my wife, she attempted to stop all 3 and was ignored by all 3.
I noddled around for another 10 minutes or so in which time the sales staff continued to ignore my wife. She finally got down a LP and plugged it in and began playing a bit when magically a sales snot appeared to suggest the "That guitar might be a bit much for a female" and that he had some that "Were real pretty colors".
At that point I walked over and pulled out the $600 she had saved (I was holding it cause she didn't want to carry her purse in) plus a couple of hundred I had (Just in case I saw something) and told him he could kiss these pretty green colors goodbye.
Have never set foot in a CG since

That's horrible how they treated your wife Tele! I probably would have done the same thing. I hope your wife ended up getting the guitar of her dreams at a different store. I would have taken her back to GC with the guitar & sales receipt & told the condescending little twerp how much commission he just lost!
