What's that inneresting looking electronics experiment leanin' against the wall to the left of the stairs?
Building an amp in your spare time?

I wrapped a newspaper ’round my head

It's the remains of my sons Fender Rumble that the lightning strike took. We use the cabinet as the 15" speaker is still OK. The insides are not in such good shape.

Rest in Peace, Fender Rumble.
You made your Guitar Noise and moved on by/to higher amperage.
(like 1000 amps)

Wow, what a way for an amp to go.
That lightning bolt sent it directly to Fender heaven with a smile big smile  on its face.

Time for an update. I got a floor, ceiling and all four walls, all insulated and sheet rocked. Still needs some more plaster and then paint. I'm getting there. Have to run the heat duct and weather strip the door too. It's starting to get cold here. I've played very little guitar in the last month and I have seven days off work starting Thursday. I plan to finish on these days off. I have too, my guitars need me! even more so, band practice needs to resume.

How about this weekend after the room and I are well plastered? I'll see what I can do Roy, I'm at work now. Got a couple on the puter at home with all the walls and ceiling done. I do plan to put some up of it before and after the paint and of course I have to do some molding and trim.

OK, well, I got sick. A head cold. Regardless, my kids and I went to to amusement park on Saturday for the carload sale. $24.99 for everyone in the car to get in. Well, my daughter and her boyfriend had season passes, but still a deal. Oh, yeah, the room and I got plastered today. I go back to work on Thursday and I'm hoping to get paint done. If you want to see pics check the web page. http://users.westelcom.com/TR2/mancave.htm

Can I talk here about my daughters boyfriend here? Nice young fellow. He is a nurse at my hospital. He was home schooled and has been a registered nurse for 2 years yet he is only 20. We took his SUV to the park. He is taking classes online for his BSN and besides working full time he attends college full time taking pre med classes. I don't know how he does it. He says he wants to give a shot at becoming a doctor but if it doesn't work out he is happy being a nurse. When he was thinking of applying for a job on my unit the nursing supervisor described him as a young me. They say girls look for a guy like daddy. As I've mentioned before my little girl is going to be a math teacher. She is student teaching at the high school down the road and loving it. It's nice to see your kids happy. Well, sorry to bore you all with that. I'm just thinking how Ric's father inlaw must have felt.

Very cool progress. Sounds like yer daughter has a nice potential family member in the wings. Need to get him on the skins or keys. :)

Mom was saying frost last week. It comes so quick. Hope you get feeling better.

Yep, we had a frost alright. The room is a little cooler than the rest of the house but if you keep the door open it's only a few degrees difference. The plan was to put a heat run out there but Igot my eye on this little gas heater that looks like a cast iron wood stove/fireplace. It's only $379 and is ventless. Says it will heat 1,000 sq ft and the Man Cave is only 20 X 20. It would be nice backup for if ... let me rephrase that, when the power goes off this winter.
