Yep, we had a frost alright.
Frost?
What is frost?
Is that similar to the foam on beer?

Oh sure, rub it in. :P I've never been to Miami, but my daughter lives in Central Florida and the weather is certainly fine there. Was at the zoo in Tampa last February with my Grandaughter and without a coat. (It gets so cold up here in Febuary we have to switch to the Kelvin scale for accurate measurement)

We've just hit the time of year that you live for here. 4-8 weeks of 65-80 degree highes with most days being clear and sunny with a slight breeze. Yeah, we don't get the beauty of the foliage in Raleigh like we did back in NY state and Vermont, but it's SOOOOOO nice.

TR, I'd rather have the cold than FLA weather any day. Step out your front door and all's you see is a 50-head farm. THAT, my friend, is a luxury.

Yeah, not being crowded is nice. I like to be warm though. I have the walls and ceiling done and painted. I have decided this is good enough for now and I'm setting things back up. The wood trim will need to be stained, no hurry and I do want to build a bar, but I'm officially calling "the Man Cave" open for business. I'll do little jobs as we go along to finish it off but I'm ready to use the room. Need to look at that gas fireplace for heat but I don't expect that to be much work.

The plan was to put a heat run out there but Igot my eye on this little gas heater that looks like a cast iron wood stove/fireplace. It's only $379 and is ventless.

Hey TR,
I would really recommend that you vent the gas heater, apart from the Carbon Monoxide and Dioxide that are produced by gas heaters there is a significant amount of moisture that is produced as well, you could end up damaging some of your gear. What you can do is to run a dehumidifier at the same time as the gas heater to absorb the moisture.

cheers
Paul

Well, this thing is designed to be ventless, I don't think you could vent it if you wanted to. As far as moisture goes, up here in Northern New York in the winter and with forced air heat in the rest of the house, well I have to run a humidifier. The air gets so dry you can hardly swallow. Extra humidity would be welcome as I fear it is too dry in my house in the winter.

Well, it's not the "finished" product, but close enough for a little while. I'm working tonight (Shhhhhh!) and tomorrow so I'm off Sunday and Monday. I'll get some pics then with all the gear setup OK? All my trim is still raw wood, there are some gaps in need of painters caulk and I do need to build a bar in the near future, but it's time to play guitar, so that is next, getting everything setup and rocking. Oh yeah, need posters and the like for those new but very bare walls.

OK Blueline .... well ... ummm .I came home from work, opened a beer and did some decorating. I took you some pictures.

Had to keep Beavis!

This is ThunderFingers' corner. Via my wife, he is a member of the Akwasasne Mohawk Indian tribe, Bear Clan. Don't ask where the sign came from ....... PLEASE! ThunderFingers sounds like an indian name, doesn't it?

Yes, this is the famous "Potty Caster" guitar, made from an oak toilet seat. Yes it plays, it sounds like crap. (Not really, sounds good) It is a triple pickup with a humbucker at the bridge.

OK is this tacky enough?

The thing in the middle is a heater. I went electric, so far I haven't even needed it. Oh, it's not cold yet, only 40 so we will see.
I think it is a lovely "Man Cave" so far. Still needs some finishing, but open for use! I absolutely love the leg lamp and the firebox phone is a must as an accessory.

Every man should have a cave ... a WW II rifle and a hand granade!

Everything nice ... and .... clean!

Tis a fine specimen. The rifles are a nice touch! Glad to see the Beavis poster made it through the renovations. The lamp is perfect. "...Aw, you gotta see from the street"..."I won in a contest...mind powers, powers of the mind"

Here's the next question- How does the wife like it? and Is she allowed in the hallowed man cave? (did you make it the Offical He-man Woman Haters Club meeting space?)

I see nothing tacky. Good taste all around. Yeah, Matt's right. We've not heard the Mrs. TR side of things. She must be somewhat for it. Get's her house de-cluttered from guitar stuff a little bit. :)

Hey!
What are you guys talking about!
What are you thinking?!
This is Man Cave.
A male dominated, gender specific, female restricted, testosterone requiring, den of depravity and bad taste . . .
a very rare and endangered habitat.
And you're asking what the Mrs. thinks? :?: :!:

KR2 (Is she going to let you keep the lamp in there?)

Have you been in my neighborhood?? There's a Mohawk Trail and it's missing its sign!

Not bad TR...for a man cave, that is.
So where does Mrs TR park her car now?

All my life I wanted to be somebody. Now I see I should have been more specific.
