So much for staying current on the topics. Going through a family crisis, moving Mom to a nursing home.
Anyway, I did get some work done on this. This is probably mod 4 or 5 on the lyrics:
verse:
Some interesting things are in history books
But all we do is memorize.
We never take a deeper look.
And what if the victors lied?
chorus:
Why does history have to be boring?
Knowing dates, names and places,
Who was in power and who was exploring.
It all seems dull and faceless.

Knowing the facts
And not the reasons
For great acts
Or acts of treason.

Famous people went off to war
Or otherwise roamed.
I'd like to know a lot more
About those who stayed home.

When they went to sleep,
Was it in a bed?
What did they eat
And where did they get it?

What were the incentives
For great migrations?
Who was inventive?
Why were there nations?

I have empathy. In my line of work I deal with folks like you and your mom everyday. It's not easy when the person that you looked up to is now dependent on you.
Nice lyric but as they say "First Things First".
As for history, remember it is usually written by the victors.

I like the chorus a lot. A real lot. So much so, in fact, that all the verses seem "dull and faceless." Don't get me wrong, the ideas are there, especially in the third and fourth verses, but it seems a little lackluster.
Of course, given everything else that's going on, that's also understandable. Family first. Always. Followed closely by your own well-being. You can always revisit when you're ready to do so.
I'll be keeping you and the whole family in my heart and thoughts.

My thoughts are with you in your time of transition.
Regarding the song. It's a good start, but the title might need a tweak. It seems like the singer is quite interested in history but feels the way it's presented is boring.....Maybe even make it a statement "History doesn't have to be Boring"
